Cancer Venom

This post is specially dedicated to my friend Marlaina chiddo's daughter Alyssa, she suffered from wilms tumor but thankfully she recovered. I am going to share with you guys her story first before continuing this article. Pictures are taken from Marlaina with her permission.

At 15 months old my daughter Alyssa was diagnosed with wilms tumor,a cancer of the kidneys. She underwent surgery to remove it & her left kidney. Due to her kidney not working properly she developed a heart murmur & thickening of the heart. She is being treated at the Valerie Center & is doing wonderful. A year & a half later the cancer has not returned. We know we are blessed, there are many children going through so much more then she is. Please help us raise money to support the wonderful things this center provides children diagnosed w/ cancers & blood disorders. Last year we raised over $2,000. I would like to match that goal. :) walk with us or donate anything you can. Even a small amount will make a difference i guarantee it!

So i have promised Marlaina that i would help her with the walk and this walk could help kids with this cancer and i was hopping that anyone of you out there could do this walk as well, it would be fantastic, great workout and you are able to help a kid with cancer. My dad has cancer so i know how it feels like to have someone close to you to have cancer too. When the first time i found out my dad has cancer, i didn't know whether i should cry or feel positive so i can help him through it and what's worst, he doesn't know that i know he has cancer. Even though he is recovering too, i hope that i could help more people. So, i have promised Marlaina to go for the walk with her when i'm there at her place which i can't go over now but soon, i was hopping anyone reading this could go for the walk too. Thousands of kids out there are suffering and going through chemotherapy at such a young age, if you have some sympathy, you would know that for them to go through these things at such a young age isn't easy. Here's a story i was told to by my principal the other day.

A little girl was in the hospital examined with a rare disease which is deadly if it isn't cured, however, a serum has not been created to help this little girl with this disease. Looking through the records, it was stated that her younger brother who was around 5 or so, i can't remember, however, it the doctor said that the brother managed to recover from the same disease and has created anti bodies for it and asked the little brother if he would like to give his blood to his sister to save her life. Hesitating for a second or so, the little brother immediately agreed to it. Lying down on the bed, as his sister face regained back some color, his face became more pale, and he asked the doctor, "Am i going to die soon?" Apparently the little brother misunderstood thinking that he has to give all his blood to his sister in order to save her life yet agreeing to it.

The whole point of the story is that if a little boy could give his life away just to save his yesterday and didn't feel bothered about it. Don't you think as teenagers and adults, we should continue being this way and being selfless to help these kids. Think about it, if this happened to your kids, you would wish that someone would do the same thing for you kids, right? So i hope that whoever is reading this now could help these kids.
