Fashion week

Fashion week, the holy event of the whole of the fashion industry where the greatest designer of all time gathers together for this special event to showcase their latest design. It is held in a white tent that holds the holy fashion designs, a place that every young man and women would like to go one day. FW begins with womenswear at the all inspiring New York City in February and ends during March in the city of love, Paris. In February, designers will showcase their Autumn/Winter design in New York City and ends on March in Paris but the Spring/Summer collections is from January, NYC on September and ends in Paris in October. However menswear Autumn/Winter collection is a whole other situation as it begins in Milan on January for a really short time, even probably less than a week and ends in Paris for another short week. Typically, haute couture for women would be held in Paris right after the Autumn/Winter menswear.

This year, Chanel’s collection was held at the chateau de Versailles in Versailles, France. Someone special stole the limelight during Chanel’s fashion week, that someone is Katy Perry. Yes, not only was she there but she had a front row seat, the seat that everyone wants and she sat beside the French actress, Elisa Sednaoui, apparently both of them seemed to be comfortable together during the show as they clapped with ease as the models walk out for the last time as a signal to the end of the show. The models that walk down the catwalk were glamorous as it contrasts with the caliginous design of Karl Lagerfeld , however with the energy of the runway show and the beauty of the model, it contrasted with everything else and the ending was perfect. Something dark became light just by the contrast of things; sometimes color can do more than you think.

Miu miu, the sister of the Saint of Fashion, Prada whose spring collection was held in Paris, did a divine job. Passing by Miu miu the other day, I saw that some of their designs kept the vintage look yet it didn’t look out of place, it still looked modern, luxurious and young, by young I don’t mean teenagers but young adults like someone who is 21. I’m not a big fan of knee length and below type of skirts because I think they make a woman look boring and weird but Miu miu did a great job with it, the designs were fabulous, it made the person wearing it look professional and it made me want to have one too and I’m a guy! With the lace designs and other detailed designs of different shirts, Miu miu did a great job with the fashion show and I want to go to Miu miu’s fashion show and see those amazing designs first hand.

Everyone should have a Miu miu shirt in their closet with a pair of Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo heels and the invention of the little black dress by Coco Chanel. Every girl needs a little black dress,
The Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson quoted : "When a little black dress is right, there is nothing else to wear in its place." A little black dress can go with anything and nothing, it can make you look glamorous with or without accessories, and that’s that power of the little black dress, in fact, it has became a rule in fashion that every girl should have a little black dress. Well, many people may or may not agree with me which is okay as everyone has their own preference. Well back to fashion week, Fashion week is a place where either you swim or you sink kind of place, where a designer could design clothes that he or she think is divine but once it enters Fashion Week and people starts critiquing, that is pretty much your cue to buck up or you pretty much sink right back and be forgotten. Fashion industry is a place where many people wants to be in but it is a dangerous place to be in and it’s a never ending war to fight for the throne.
